Vanessa Gauvin-Brodeur is a Canadian film director, screenwriter and editor with over 15 years of experience in the creative field across a wide range of disciplines. She worked as a journalist and as an advertising creative before becoming a filmmaker.

Currently based in Montreal, she grew up in Europe, North America, and the Middle East. Her work is deeply inspired by the influence of territories, cultural roots, life experiences, and the larger sociopolitical significance of the everyday life on individual trajectories.
She is recognized for her emotional storytelling skills, her ability to work with open castings and first time actors, and her true-to-life aesthetic.

Vanessa works in advertising, TV, film, and develops projects in both documentary and fiction.

Her documentary TV show Sexugénaires, exploring the intimacy of senior citizens, currently airs on the TV5 networks. She is also working on the post-production of Géants, a 6 episode fiction she co-wrote & directed set to air on Télé-Québec at the end of 2026.
